Before you answer a single question, there is something important to understand — because it changes everything about how you read your results.

Your reactions are not random

Every time you shut down, lash out, people-please, or push through — it feels like a choice. But most of the time, it is not. It is a pattern. A deeply wired response that your nervous system learned, often a very long time ago, when it needed that response to survive.

Those patterns did not form because something is wrong with you. They formed because something happened to you — and your nervous system, your beliefs, and your body all adapted to protect you. The problem is that the same patterns that once kept you safe now keep you stuck.

What are energy levels?

The word energy here is not mystical. It is practical. Think of it as the lens you are looking through when life happens — and that lens changes everything.

The same exact situation — a difficult conversation, a setback at work, someone letting you down — can land in completely different ways depending on the state your nervous system is in when it hits you. That state is what we call your energy level.

There are seven levels. They sit on a spectrum from the most contracted, self-protective states at the bottom, to the most expanded, connected states at the top.

Catabolic
Levels 1, 2 and 3 — survival energy. The nervous system is in protection mode. Options feel limited. The world feels threatening, unfair, or out of control. These patterns drain energy over time.
Anabolic
Levels 4, 5, 6 and 7 — growth energy. The nervous system has enough safety to look outward with curiosity, care, and possibility. These patterns build and expand energy over time.

These are not personality types. You are not permanently fixed at one level. They are states — and states can shift. That is the entire point.

Why your nervous system is at the center of this

Here is the piece that most personal development completely misses. The energy level you operate from is not primarily a mindset issue. It is a nervous system issue.

Your nervous system is constantly scanning for threat — and it is doing this far faster than your conscious mind can think. When it detects danger, real or perceived, it activates a survival response. And that survival response determines which energy level you have access to.

Freeze response — "I cannot move, I cannot think, nothing I do matters." This is Level 1. The nervous system has shut down to survive an overwhelming threat.

Fight response — "I have to push harder, prove myself, win." This is Level 2. The nervous system has mobilized to defeat the threat.

Fawn or manage response — "I will keep the peace, stay logical, handle it myself." This is Level 3. The nervous system is managing the environment to prevent threat from activating.

Regulated and safe — Levels 4 through 7 become available. Care, curiosity, insight, presence. None of these are accessible when the nervous system is in survival mode.

This is why telling yourself to just think positively or choose a better response rarely works. You cannot think your way out of a nervous system response. The pattern has to be worked with at the level it lives — in the body, in the beliefs, and in the subconscious programming underneath.

Nervous system capacity is the ability to stay regulated — or return to regulation quickly — when life activates you. The higher your capacity, the higher the energy levels you have consistent access to. Building that capacity is the work.
What this assessment actually measures

This is not a personality test. It measures two things: the energy level you tend to operate from in everyday life, and the energy level you drop to when you are under stress.

That gap — between your everyday self and your stressed self — is one of the most revealing pieces of information in your results. It shows you exactly where your nervous system's capacity runs out, and where the unresolved patterns underneath your reactions are living.
